Canadian Tire has hooked up with the NHL to create a hockey school. This website allows parents and coaches to read hockey tips coming from the pros themselves. On the website you can see:

· How to tape up your stick
· Hockey costs/Nutrition
· Coaching and leadership
· Skating tips
· Tricks and techniques from NHL players
The CTHS (Canadian Tire Hockey School) teaches people who are aspiring to be in the NHL how to be a well rounded player. The website has a variety of tips on the game. The website is very interactive and contains a lot of information on it. If the website does not contain the answer then you can ask them your question right away. I mean after all hockey is Canada’s greatest game, so why wouldn’t they be able to provide a lot of information.
Any thoughts on Canadian Tire hooking up with the NHL
I think it is great Canadian tire is getting involved with hockey. There website is really cool I looked at it. See I think it’s smart on their part because hockey is Canada’s sport it originated in Canada. This is Canadian tires way of getting involved with the community more. Also it’s going to help attract more people to Canadian tire cause of the fact that there store is branching out their product line. It shows there proud of their Canadian hockey players its show there proud to support us Canadians and most importantly it shows that Canadian tire proud to be Canadian.
ReplyDeleteThe website is very well done and it does provide a lot of information. The store has branched out huge. The amount of stuff that Canadian Tire owns is unbelievable. They have really got there name out there. Yes, Canada’s sport is hockey and we as Canadians will always support that. There basically doing what other companies have done.

ReplyDeleteI guess in terms of opportunity cost, do you think it's wise for Canadian Tire to participate in hockey schools? Is it taking away from money that they could use to advertise and be competitive against RONA and Home Depot?
Rona and Home Depot in my mind they are pretty much the same thing. I would not think to put Canadian tire in the same category as the other two. These both sell home building supplies like:
Delete• Wood
• Doors
• Dry wall
• Kitchen taps
• Pipes
• Electrical
I don’t think you will be able to find sports equipment at Home Depot and/or Rona. Canadian Tire in my mind would be more like a Wal-Mart. Everything has a cost to it. It’s just another way for Canadian tire to advertise their name. Impressively Canadian Tire owns a lot of other stores which we are probably unaware of. For companies to advertise they will have to be a certain amount of cost to it. Hockey is Canada’s sport and let’s face it is a good way to get there name out there.
In the long run, do you think that Canadian Tire is trying to develop a backbone name in the hockey industry(Question Mark). The only reason that I think that this could be a potential goal of Canadian Tire, is because Nike and Reebok did the same in regards to the NBA and putting in a lot of money into the league. Do you think that this is an obtainable goal for the company(Question Mark)
ReplyDeleteYes I do believe that Canadian Tire is trying to be the hockey name. Everyone knows hockey in Canada because it is our sport. I think that Canadian Tire is trying to make it so that when you think of hockey you think canadian tire all at the same time.
