SAY GOODBYE TO CANADIAN TIRE MONEY

Canadian Tire is going to stop giving out Canadian Tire money and start using a point system. Basically every dollar that you spend you will receive 1 point.  If you have the company’s credit card now as the Options master card you will get 3 points for every dollar spent.  For every dollar spent a Canadian Tire you get 40 cents back. To get the paper money back you would have to use cash, debit, or the options MasterCard. On the points system you would get points no matter how you pay. You can also collect points from the Canadian Tire gas pumps. If you want you can also transfer the points that are collected to the Canadian Tire jump start program. They might create a key fob that will collect the points or it will just be collect on a card like any other loyalty program. They have switched some of the stores over to the point system. It’s only the stores in Nova Scotia that have switched over to the points system. They will not expand the program out into other provinces tell they have determined that the points card is the right way to go. Once there goals have been meet then the rest of the Canadian Tire stores will be switched over.

Is it a smart move for Canadian Tire to get rid of there canadian tire money?

HE SHOOTS, HE SCORES!!!!!!!!

Canadian Tire has hooked up with the NHL to create a hockey school. This website allows parents and coaches to read hockey tips coming from the pros themselves. On the website you can see:
·         How to lace up your skates
·         How to tape up your stick
·         Hockey costs/Nutrition
·         Coaching and leadership
·         Skating tips
·         Tricks and techniques from NHL players

The CTHS (Canadian Tire Hockey School) teaches people who are aspiring to be in the NHL how to be a well rounded player. The website has a variety of tips on the game. The website is very interactive and contains a lot of information on it. If the website does not contain the answer then you can ask them your question right away. I mean after all hockey is Canada’s greatest game, so why wouldn’t they be able to provide a lot of information.
Any thoughts on Canadian Tire hooking up with the NHL

CANADIAN TIRE..........BECOMING A ONE STOP SHOP?

Coming soon to a Canadian Tire near you.
While people are getting an oil change or even picking up a can of WD40 you can swing by one of the isles to pick up cereal. Your probably thinking did I just read that, and the answer is yes, yes you did. Canadian tire is trying to expand their product line.  There grocery section isn’t that big though, It only consumes about 2% of the space in the store. Right now they are currently testing out this new idea in some stores in Canada. By some I really do mean some, its about 2 or 3 stores currently that have this option. Companies basically want to make things more convenient for them. This will limit the amount of time that a person travels to go do all their shopping. Instead of them going to 3 or 4 different stores they just have to go to one. This is a little weird to see a hardware place sell groceries. If that’s what the consumer wants then that’s what they are going to get.
What do the rest of you think about Canadian Tire selling Groceries?
